I don't know, it sounds more like a general off topic discussion if you want to argue about whether or not the 'useless accounts' hurt the site. But if this is a question to Phade asking whether he's going to restart the site...what do you mean, restart the site? He's not going to kick you off if you've posted or logged in regularly. At the very most, he'd get those who never log in more than once, who never use their accounts, etc. I don't know why people are bothered by the number of accounts, but I wouldn't worry about the site being 'restarted.' It just sounds like you introduced yourself right as the wolves were hungry for something to gripe about. That happens. ^_^;;

Babelfish needs to install a 12yo-to-English translator.

In any case, the number of unused accounts is just one of the issues that plague the 'Org, including multiple entries of videos, the same video uploaded twice under different names, the pervasiveness of illegally downloaded footage, etc.

If the site weren't so open (i.e. ANYONE can create an account and list their videos), some of these problems wouldn't occur as much, but it'd also be a hindrence to the growth of the community. A balance must be found.

Yes, but that's still 'unused accounts' - that has no bearing on a new member who actually introduced himself in the forum, unless it's a warning not to leave and never come back again unless he wants his account deleted.

And I know a balance is needed. ^_^ That's why there are threads reporting duplicate listings of the same vid in multiple formats - to help clean out the clogs.

This is the first I've heard of deleting old vids, though...that would really hurt Phade's dream of listing/hosting all amvs (yes, even those with poor quality footage of questionable source). I don't see vids being deleted based on source footage any time soon, just the duplicates being erased.

I'd say give it at least a month. A new member may wait 2 weeks before coming back since he can't really download until that waiting period expires. If you let it sit a month, and then delete the accounts that only logged in once (the first time) during that month, you won't get the new people who join to download videos and actually waited patiently (as apposed to the ones who come onto the forums to complain about having to wait - those would have logged in more than once during the first month).

I suppose we did harrass you which I apologize for. It is quite anoyying welcoming new people who don't bother to post again, which is 95% of the case. Plus the waste of space. The idea of the one month thing sounds great and maybe it will become a reality.
