Out of 91473 members for this site there are only 7548 AMV makers?!

Why is this not any higher?

Well, just think, how many of those members have joined in the last few months? They may not have made anything yet (but plan to eventually). And how many have logged in once or twice and never come back? There are some very old strange login names if you scroll through the members list - duplicate accounts, one-time sign-ins, not really *members* if you know what I mean. And how many people who like to watch amvs really have the time to make them? Yeah, eight percent is very low, but not *too* bad if you discount a sixth of the members as no-shows, and two fifths as beginners who haven't made anything yet. ^_^

Anyways, AMV creation seems to require many things: Anime, DVD-Roms, capture cards, ideas, time, motivation, interest, etc. etc. etc.

Most of us don't have all that. Especially the last few.
Besides, you need an audience, don't you?

I think we should be thankful it's not higher. There's a large enough influx of crap as it is; it could be a lot worse.

But I be willing to go through this if it means that it will help bring in new creators and help them get better. That is how I got started myself becuase of people like Arigatomyna that took the time to show me the ropes.
