Are there any animes about Mother/Child love?

Post by TifaLockhartVII » Sun Oct 09, 2011 10:47 pm

It's my mum's birthday soon, and I wanted to dedicate an amv to her. =3 Anyone knows of any animes with lots and lots of scenes of mother/child love in it? Please no animes with mothers literally dying in it. Upto this day, I still can't watch Bambi without bawling my eyes out.

Thankies.

What about FMA? There are some nice moments...though the mom dies...or maybe Ash and his mom from the Spell of the Unown?

Nahona's first season or first movie. It's a sad situation about that though... Very sad... :(

*Sighs* I seriously feel depressive watching anything with mothers dying in it. I wanted something more, happy-ish... But thanks guys, I'll give these animes a go ^^ I know there's also Kanon 2006, but it didn't have much scenes that I want/need.

I second the mahoromatic scenes. For a very fanservicey anime, it had some very beautiful, healing-style moments.

Trigun has some good flashback scenes with Vash, Knives, and Rem, though Rem is more an adopted mother figure for them.

There's also Clannad for Nagisa and her mother, and Clannad After Story for when Nagisa becomes a mother herself - this *is* Key, however, so expect an emotional rollercoaster. I haven't really watched it, but "Air" might have some good scenes.

Madoka Magica has Madoka and her mother preparing for the day together, eating breakfast together, giving her advice about life in the middle of the night, arguing about whether she should go out and risk her life, etc.

Usagi drop, while mainly about Daikichi raising Rin, is all about parenthood, and has some good scenes with Daikichi's cousin Haruko and her daughter, a bit with his coworker who's a single mom, and several good scenes with Yukari, another single mom raising a boy in Rin's class. One good scene involves her coming over to help when Rin falls ill.
I haven't seen much of Aishiteruze baby, but the concept is very similar to Usagi Drop, so it might have similar scenes.

Hanasaku Iroha, although the mother seems very irresponsible at first, has some good scenes when they make up, some flashbacks to when Ohana was young and to her grandmother and mother's relationship when they were young, etc.
