Please, my standards of insulting you are far higher than that.dazza1008 wrote:Godix probably wrote this quick comment...
Try editing some time, this thing fucking sucks. Drag it by amv-review.
What's amv review? Your own personal site?
And yeah, if I wanted to waste your time having you dissect this AMV I did ages ago, then I would submit it. But thanks for the offer.
A guide for dealing with the fact you just suck

Seriously, don't forget that this topic is not justifying our reasons for labeling something as "suck."
Consider that maybe, for some reason, you do suck.
That's the whole point. At one point or another we sucked at what we did. Whether it be reviewing or making AMVs. A lot of us still do.

If you think the video is bad, tell the creator what is wrong with it and how it could be made better. If you didn't bother watching the video, then perhaps you should keep your comments to yourself.
People become better through practice and experience, but peer support and advice can accelerate that improvement. For all you jaded and cynical creators out there, don't forget that at one time or another you were new to editing also.

LOL godix, I dub thee "master asshole" for probably writing this QC diarrhoea...godix wrote: Please, my standards of insulting you are far higher than that.
I've had a more enjoyable time watching a South African try returning AIDS to the monkeys. At least when I saw cum covered shit flowing out a huge monkeys ass then I at least knew it was coming up and was able to prepare myself. This video gives no warning so I don't have time to shut down my minds eye and go to my happy place. It masquerades as a normal video with a normal description while I'm downloading it but on opening up I'm hit with worse pixelization than a 14 year old who zooms in 400% on the womans face in a bukkake film. And dear god, watching a man buried to the balls in an ape was bad but at least it wasn't subtitled.
I'll have to take your word for all that, I don't watch stuff like that. It's nice to know a bit about the person writing it, so thanks for the extra info. It's =almost= poetic too, the way you wrote it.
Suggestions duly noted, but again it was one of my earlier ones, and I take no responsibility for the quality of WMM. Actually, you're right, I didn't mention about the quality in the description. (suckers XD)
Guys, consider this not off topic but a case study.

I used WMM forever and never had pixelly subtitled crap quality wmv encodes. If the quality is that bad, it's because (a) you exported it at a crap setting instead of experimenting (or reading wmm's help files) first or (b) because you used crap source footage (fansubs) without doing any preprocessing. If you'd used dvd footage and WMM's highest setting - and the quality still doesn't look good - then you can blame the quality on WMM's limitations. As long as your sources are crap, the program you're feeding the crap to doesn't matter. It's you that's to blame.

On second thought maybe that is on-topic. Consider it constructive criticism. Don't blame your program for your own incompetence. Learn to separate your own limitations from the limitations of the programs you're using.
And to make it really on-topic with the article referenced here:
This is like saying it's not your fault if your fic has all sorts of spelling errors because you use WordPad and it doesn't come with a spellchecker. The real problem is that you don't know how to spell and you're too lazy to use a dictionary.
