I knew that he knew a lot of people around here, but I didn't expect him to be noticed so quickly, considering he just popped back on the org after 3 years just this June. xD
That's rather neat though. :awesome:

I miss that guy.

There's a handful of people I respect as editors in this hobby, but idolizing them? no way.

There are a few I look up to, not idolize though.

The old NKoders (I know, you all hate them and their arrogance) but they were my mentors and damn were they tough on me. But it was for the good. And i wouldn't have chosen a career in editing without them. I miss them.

Koop, Nostromo and the like: for reminding me, I have a long, long way to go.

Castor Troy, although he doesn't know it, he has been the reason I furthered my career twice now, with a possible third opportunity coming my way. So thank. I didn't feel quite so helpless when I was learning avid, as I was reminded of the editing with rocks analogy. I personally felt more like I had oven mitts on though.

koopiskeva - for being just awesome, both in his AMVs and in his life.

Nostromo - because he can achieve great results with simple methods.

Megamom - because he has a great feel for AMVs.

mirkosp - because he's simply great, experimenting with stuff and always willing to help.

dokidoki - because comedy is a dying breed.

JaddziaDax - because simple love style is a dying breed too.

Jarnik - because I started making AMVs because of him (and he's still our best editor).

blabbler - because I wish I could do awesome from nothing as easy as him.

And I probably missed a few others to whom I apologize deeply >.>

Glad I can be of help.

I used to hate Avid, but now I've become fluent enough in it to use it like any other editor.

Do you use Avid for AMVs or stuff you shoot?

Stuff I shoot since I can capture camera footage with it via firewire.

Not idols but inspirational creators:

Kevin Caldwell
Tyler yj
Their work is just timeless.

Sierra Lorna
Silvermoon
I was always impressed by Silvermoon's use of effects and Sierra Lorna's editing style.

Koop
Chikaboom
DokiDoki
Because they're good at this craft and terrible at self promotion.
