I wanna whine about people using my video for clips (too)!

I have never done it, but I could see why people would do it.
1. They don't have a dvd ripper (like me).
2. They don't have the anime.
3. They don't have money for either (like me).
It is one thing if they take something that has no editing done to it. They see a scene that would work in their music vid, and didn't have the series nor wanted to buy it for just that one little scene, or didn't have any money to do so.
The only time I think it is unexceptable is what they take what the editor did on his own and try and pass it off as their own work. THat sucks and people like that should be booted. Well that's how I feel.

For me it is. I have a dvd rom drive, but no ripping program. If I did I would have made so many AMVs by now. I look for free programs on the net, but they either don't work or are just shitty trials that give you five minutes worth, so...SnhKnives wrote:Evangelion Unit 01 wrote:

DVDDecryptor is a complete, easy to use, entirely free ripping program - there's a link in the guide. The same is true for SmartRipper, also linked in the guide. If you can't read the guide, then go to www.doom9.org and nab a free, complete copy of DVDDecryptor from the 'Download' section - you can probably figure out how to use it on your own. Now...getting that into a format your editing program can use is another matter. I'd recommend reading the guides as soon as you can.

I was recently looking for smartripper and found out that the program has come under fire due to the DMCA. (Big suprise). So, if you want to download that one you have to set it up in German, I do believe. DVDDecryptor still floats around on doom9, so go with that. Heck, that's the one in the new guides anyway.Evangelion Unit 01 wrote:Oh yeah sorry forgot about!Arigatomyna wrote:Read the amv making guide:Evangelion Unit 01 wrote:For me it is.
