ah, dont know why i didnt think of this before, Quentin Tarantino. Kill bill was very animeish in its style (uh, cute girl in a schoolgirl outfit swinging a ball and chain, you dont see that anywhere else other than anime) as far as live action movies go and hell, it even had a few anime (or animated might be a better word as they are not japanese made) scenes in it when doing flashbacks to the past.

Akira is actually probably one of the Most well known anime/movies to people not into anime. Other then the really mainstream stuff liek SpeedRace, DBZ, howl's moving castle, etc...

Yeah my dad never watches anime but knows about akira, dbz, and defintly speedracer the one and only anime hes ever seen would b speedracer id say lolz besides the miyzaki(think thats spelled right >_<) films of course

Another possible anime fan is Gilbert Gottfried lolz
