ah, dont know why i didnt think of this before, Quentin Tarantino. Kill bill was very animeish in its style (uh, cute girl in a schoolgirl outfit swinging a ball and chain, you dont see that anywhere else other than anime) as far as live action movies go and hell, it even had a few anime (or animated might be a better word as they are not japanese made) scenes in it when doing flashbacks to the past.
