Oh man, now I'm jealous. I've met a couple of groups, but no huge names. Did the tenors try to talk in a lower voice when metting people?

It's an even mix. Some of the people who post all the time have well known videos. Others have only recently started making videos or still haven't made anything. There's no correlation between post count and quality or post count and quantity.

Most of the people whose videos I know are people I met on the forum, or ones I heard about on the forum. I don't click sigs, or pay attention to them, but I do read posts and recommendations. I don't go to cons, so the only other way I find videos is through super search - and that's searching by anime. I don't really remember the creators I find that way unless I download a really special video of theirs, or if I download everything they've made. I notice when someone I found through searching never comes to the forums - but only because I'm pretty used to the usual forum-posters.

If new names on the forum catch my eye, I check their profiles. But I'm not surprised whether they have videos or not. I don't have any expectations one way or the other.

Heh, I'm on page six. For some reason I see some of the forum regulars checking that for kicks.

Wow, I'm still in the top ten. That's... sad.

And it's even more sad that Propyro is still in there, and he basically hasn't posted since OT went down (2.5 years!).

To me, that's another confirmation of what de-OTfication did to this "forum presence" we're discussing, which at least a few good folks here seem to consider important
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

anneke wrote:I've met alot of 'major' AMV creators, and then there are those creators who are 'big' on the forums. Some times I look at a name and want to remind myself what 'big' videos the person has made (and to remember if I met them or not), only to find out that despite a large forum presence, they don't have any videos I've heard of. Does anyone else find this happening, and abit interesting?

Anneke
Well, I was told a few times before that I was big on the forums but my videos remained unpopular. I haven't been around these forums in, like, a year, so I'm not trying to boast or whatever.

Personally, I remember looking at "big" forum names and saying "what video did they make?..." So I suppose I agree with you! :D
