opinions on a review.

well I don't think I'm completely out of luck since they said they may be able to fix it.. but derobert would probably have to figure out how to fix it so he could disable the effects score for that video.. so it's part of a technical issue in fixing it.. but I was hoping they could delete the review since it's a shitty review to begin with, and when I mentioned that I was going to get it deleted, he decided to change his score to prevent that.. man sorry if it just seems like I'm just bitching for the sake of bitching.. I'm not upset about the over all score.. just the fact I got an effects score to a video that doesn't have any effects.

Just to make my self more clear.. I'd be equally mad if he gave me a ten for the effects.. this isn't just about getting a low score.

I can see being upset about people scoring stuff that doesn't exist. But if you've pretty much got things on the way to being fixed, why post to the forum? That's what makes it seem like bitching for bitching's sake. If you've already done something about it and administration is cooperating, there's no need for a forum thread. Your member journal would've been a better place for venting.

I see where your coming from.. they said they'll try and fix it.. I was told to PM derobert but I never seem to get a response from him.. and Tsunami Jones says the overall review is just his opinion so there's no reason to delete it.. and I've been waiting over a month to get this fixed.. so this is just me getting more impatient and seeing if maybe someone could try a bit harder to get it fixed.. or see if others think it's legit enough to get the op deleted since it's pretty lousy in the first place. that would relieve a lot of frustration.. and if they did just do that for now, all I'd have to worry about is someone else reviewing the effects.

A word limit would just put people of OP'ing vids. 1 line ops are fine as long as they leave a small sentence in each box. Not everyone is capable of sharp, constructive critique on an amv. However I like the penalty sugestion. 2 week site/oping ability ban and prenament bans for repeate offenders would be a welcome policy.

derobert said he can lock the effects category from being scored. however, the mods cannot edit part of an opinion without deleting the entire opinion. and they will only delete an opinion if the opinion is an obvious personal attack or a mistaken entry. the opinion you have shown fails to show evidence of either condition, thus the mods won't delete the opinion.

because there have been less than 3 opinions left on that video, the only publicly visible effect caused by that digital effects score is on your profile 'average received' score. i would imagine that in order to negate the effect of that digital effects score on your profile score, the site coders would need to build a tool to do that, which would take more than a simple button click.

i do agree it's important for you to voice yourself when the mods/admin fail to do something they should or they promise they would. it is constructive criticism for them, and keeps your case from being from being forgotten.

lol I have gotten opinions nasty ones i would think from people who have no videos who expect EVERYONE to have something like premeire...

I had someone give me a 2 on audio cause they didnt like the song. it was complete bullshit and even when I explained to them that they arent supposed to score that way, they said "well its my opinion the song sucks"

I dropped it, I never notified the admins.... and no matter what, like flint said on the first page (and yes i read all of this thread) its just a number, its just a score.... even if you think its undeserved, its not the end of the world....

I still get the occasional opinion on my older videos that tell me to "try harder next time" or give me ways i can improve.

either way... guh, 4 pages...

they could give me any numbers they want.. I could drop that in a heart beat.. I just don't like getting scores on something I didn't do. Witch is in this case the effects.. maybe they could delete the guys op.. lock the ability to op the effects.. then tell the guy he could re-do his op.. i don't care about any of the scores he gave me.. just getting op scores for effects when I have never submitted any effect videos to the org is just plain stupid.
