Re: Favourite AMV moments of all time
You do realize that any player that can play an H.264/AAC mp4 video can play the m4v's Maboroshi linked to, right? The format is essentially mp4 and is not uncommon... m4a is for audio (Common for aac encoded music libraries), m4v is for video (Common for video podcasts), mp4 is for either or a combination. You can use any direct show based player if you have CCCP installed.Knowname wrote:you might need this player to play it... or VLC. You may or may not have noticed, but no one was having problems playing the video.Knowname wrote:Glad that my attempt to help this guy is so appreciated.

Re: Favourite AMV moments of all time
That's... irrelevant. If you wish to know why I'll be happy to resume this in a pm, but my only goal is to point out that when one points to an uncommonly used video (which, my bad, isn't really uncommon, but my copy of KMP Player didn't play it) one should point ANY OTHERS WHO WISH TO READ IT to the appropriate player.
I just thought of doing him that favor.
I apologize if my tone (especially) in asking why you chose m4v offended you. See
I can be nice
and I normally am it's just laced in sarcasm (internet tough guy-itis
).

Re: Favourite AMV moments of all time
You obviously don't know who I am... lol was the king of sarcasm / flame threads long before the .org ever existed so I know you were just showing how ignorant I am (j/k here). But honestly it is good to know m4v is not universal as I am from the era of MPEG 1 & 2 and actually having to capture from VHS & SVHS. In the end the file wasn't meant for download and isn't even posted on my site. I also use the m4v since the flash player on my site supports it and for iphone users so they can watch it on the fly. Does anyone else have any suggestions on a file type that is iphone friendly and universal? mp4 mkv m4v yada yada... ahhh I miss the good old days spending a good day uploading my mpeg1 90mb+ Macross Info High on dial up!Knowname wrote:That's... irrelevant.
