I've..actually never had this happen to me. Only released a few videos, but even with all my failed projects, none of them were because of someone else doing the same song/anime.

never had this happen to me with both song and anime, but generally if I am planing a video to a specific character combo in a specific anime, and someone good beats me to a good video to that combo, It then saves me the trouble of having to make it, and I can move on to other ideas :O

this happened recently to me with koops new Ef video. I like his video, so although I had a different song planned, I'll probably just keep his for viewing pleasure and retire my idea.

(now if I had already begun editing it to a large degree, I'd probably just do what some others have said in this thread and finish it anyway. depends on how much I like the idea I was going to do. )
