For my own it's EDITOR - TITLE.EXTENSION. If there's something special about that version (like 'Preliminary', 'Remastered', 'Letterboxed', 'XviD Preview', etc.), I'll put that in parentheses unless there's more than one such identifier, in which the first will be in parentheses, the second separated by a hyphen; viewer-side extensions of such are faced by brackets instead. Versions I upload here have an additional 'distro' tag on them when on my computer which I take off before I upload and put back on after it's finished. For instance:

On computer:
Qyöt27 - I Wish I Had An Angel distro.mkv
Qyöt27 - I Wish I Had An Angel (Preliminary) distro.mkv
Qyöt27 - Rufus (Remastered) - XviD Preview.avi

Viewer-side:
Qyöt27 - I Wish I Had An Angel (Preliminary) [Remastered].mkv

Although I'm not entirely sure how closely I've stuck to those rules when uploading things here. For real previews I only do it formally if there's going to be some kind of distribution involved (like for a multi-editor project). For my own previewing I just output a basic filename, usually the song title.

For other people's videos, I leave the filenames alone unless it's so completely vague that I'd otherwise have no clue what it was (which isn't often).

I typically go with studio/editor name - title of video

That way it works out pretty well that it's identifiable as my video from the filename. Not that anything is stopping people from changing it at whim once they download it.

my current are something like

anime - title(jea).avi

for other peoples i usually add the anime in front and leave the rest as it is if the anime isn't there already ^_^ though lately i've been too lazy to do that, especially since i don't organize the folder alphabetically anymore lol

I'm contemplating switching to this system:

Name of Video - Current Position of the Sun in the Zodiac - Number obtained after rolling a d20 - Name of the /b/ camwhore that I last fapped to - Reading taken off of sphygmomanometer - Colour of mood ring when editing began.avi
