If you are 27 then why on earth are you still mooching off mummy and daddy's dial-up connection?
did he ever say he was moochin of his mumy and dada
No, but the lines "I got seriously chewed out the other day by my folks for taking 5 hours to get back my fave AMV that I lost when my harddrive got screwed during the summer" and "I can't be online for that long" suggest that her folks are in the house and don't appreciate the phone line being tied up for hours on end.

I could be wrong, but I'd be surprised.

That's what I was reffering to, Scintilla and Shinodude, I should have quoted both parts for clarity I suppose. =/

I spent 12 hours uploading the "first version" of Pretty Sparkles, cause all I had was dial up...

I guess if youre really into the hobby, then download/upload speeds wont stop you from participating.

Whisper of the Beast was also made by a pair of dudes who live in a place without broadband (Murmansk, Russia)
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I'm not sure where you are, but you probably have a bookstore or library in your area. Most people do.

I'd suggest that you go and check out some of the books on video editing. Ideally you want one that comes with a demo of the program that it's about such as Premiere. At the very least, windows XP comes with 'windows movie maker', which is not er... luxurious in terms of programs but functional. Personally I reccomend: classroom in a book series, as it covers basics and some advanced stuff in an easy to read and quickly useful format.

More importantly the process of making a video is really all about just taking what you see in your head and putting it into another medium. If you want to make a decent video, then the most important thing is not fancy programs and internet slaves but the desire to make it so.

I've seen videos that were made entirely in virtualdub. A painful process to be sure, but it worked. I've also seen huge swaths of videos that were made using windows media maker. (another free program that came with your computer if you have XP.)

Failing all of that: you need to find some other people in your area that like to make AMV's and hook up. Join an Anime club in your area, and get everyone to donate a stuff for a 'club' computer that can be used to make videos on.
