I have two theories about this:
1. When you read the description for U43A, all you see is 'This was quite a technical acheivement for myself'. I was like 'Okay, that sounds cool.' However, when I read Drrnged's video description, it mentioned that there was a number of 3D boards and films being displayed at different angles. I went into the video expecting to see something like many TV clips flying around, and wow, I did.
2. In U43A, I saw things I had never seen on television before. Moving sepia's, tinted radar's, disapperaing/reappearing images, and it was all new to me. However I constantly see commericals, music videos, and movie that have computer generated boards with movies playing on them.[/quote]
1) forgive me for being honest in my vid description
2) you know this is pretty much one of the better things i've heard about my video. Thanks for actually making my video sound like its something that could be played on TV. (its called motion graphics)

What's up with everyone trying to be innovative? If you make a video simply for the purpose of innovation and not because it's something you enjoy making, then you're never gonna have any fun with it.
Just make what you like making, we need more creators who do this, because generally when someone creates something they themself really love, it turns out a lot better then something they've been forcing themself to edit for however many months.
If you wanna make an action video with Naruto and Dbz and Linkin Park, the DEW IT. If you wanna make an Eva vid about Shinji, DEW IT. If you wanna make an upbeat, crazy FLCL vid THEN DEW IT. If you wanna make a various anime comedy video using peppy techno DEW IT. And if you wanna make a shameless angsty action/drama vid using hardrock THEN FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DEW IT!
I'm sick and tired of people trying to be different for the sake of being different.
WE EAT WHAT WE LIKE! YEAH!

The best effects are the ones you don't notice.

See, that's another point. If all I made was large experimental projects, I'd quickly die. That's why I have fun with simple, if ultimately-unimpressive videos.
And frankly, I'd be just as happy if we all went back to doing nothing besides just happily cutting clips and putting them to songs we think are cool.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

that also brings up the counter point of "What if you like being innovative?"
what if you enjoy doing something that you haven't seen in an AMV before?
I don't need to be making an AMV to try something thats completely out of my regular boundaries. I like creating things just to create them. Some of them were failed projects but learning what went wrong is just as important to me as going "WOOT im a genius!" (while looking around in an empty room)

Not that I'm unhappy with innovation
See, my thing is... I love the creative side of editing, I hate the technical side of editing with a passion. Generally, the innovation has been moving along rapidly in recent time along the technical axis. So, I'm just whining about the fact that I can't, or rather, don't want to keep up, that's all.
Creatively though, I like to innovate based on my own experience, and I have a lot of fun making things I've never made before [also things noone's made before, but that's somewhat secondary]. So, whereas a hard-rock, simply-edited action vid is the pits of unoriginality for the .org, it's fun and fresh to me.
And when I make something others think it's innovative - well, that's nice. But I'm not gonna go out of my way just to get them to think that

How about instead of bitching about it, you fuckers go edit
?
Othokio =O you need to get online to be dubbing, I have like 6 more lines for you BUD-dy.
And ssjvegita0609, dude we need more action videos, theres a real shortage of good ones man wtf, GET BACK TO EDITING =O.
And absolutedestiny, well, this should be pretty obvious, dude, you've covered 60's, 70's rock, wheres the 80's gonna go?
Come on people, theres room for innovation, but as homer simpson said "America was formed on the princible of people looking at an over crowded maket and saying ME TOO!".
