Hi zubaza,
This website is not intended to showcase the AMVs that everyone likes. It is a website that is intended to catalog all (or as many as possible) AMVs created and make them easily accessible. If you want a website that is intended to showcase the AMVs that everyone likes, you could search for fanpages where people talk about their favorite AMVs, or anime convention sites that list the winners of their AMV contests. Or you could make your own webpage listing your favorite videos, which I'm sure some of us would appreciate as well.

However, this website does have measures of filtering the most popular and most valued (in opinions) videos. In addition to the top 10% scale angelx03 mentioned, there is a top favorites, most opinionated, top star scale, and a list of Viewer's Choice Awards (an annual awards event hosted on this website) nominees and winners.

As for your grammar, eating ramen and playing Go is no excuse for dodging all punctuation. Notice how two blocks with identical syntax but different grammar give different messages:
Dear John:
I want a man who knows what love is all about. You are generous, kind, thoughtful. People who are not like you admit to being useless and inferior. You have ruined me for other men. I yearn for you. I have no feelings whatsoever when we're apart. I can be forever happy--will you let me be yours?
Gloria

Dear John:
I want a man who knows what love is. All about you are generous, kind, thoughtful people, who are not like you. Admit to being useless and inferior. You have ruined me. For other men, I yearn. For you, I have no feelings whatsoever. When we're apart, I can be forever happy. Will you let me be?
Yours,
Gloria
we don't require perfect spelling or grammar, but please put in some punctuation so we can better understanding what you're trying to say.

Indiscriminately.
now 5 or 6 years later I realized Amvs are starting to suck
What makes you think it's the videos that have changed rather than your perception of them? When you started, the simplest nooby video was enough to amaze you - everything you saw amazed you because you had no means of comparison. After 5 years of 'downloading like crazy' you've seen a wide variety of videos and should (seems like you can) tell which ones are better than others - or at least which types of editing you enjoy watching. It's not that the good videos have disappeared, it's that you've gotten harder to satisfy. That is normal. You'll find that no one with a means of comparison can 'download like crazy' and expect to be 'amazed' by everything like he was when he first saw an amv.

That doesn't mean the good videos aren't out there, but the more judgemental you are, the more it takes to impress you (after 5+ yrs of watching vids), the harder you'll have to look to find something up to your standards. Chances are you may not find anything that will 'amaze' you unless you make it yourself. Not because no one else is any good, but because no one except you can satisfy the standards you've set on videos. And honestly, no one but you is obligated to meet those standards - I'm sure you know that now (after this thread). Just think, if my little sister saw an amv and watched them 'like crazy' she'd be amazed for a few weeks - maybe even a year if she never saw the truly great videos. But once she started getting the famed ones, she'd realize those old videos that used to amaze her really weren't all that and a bag of chips. She'd get judgemental, like you, and harder to satisfy.

It's natural - either keep looking and being dissatisfied, or make your own and leave everyone else to make what they want - instead of what you want.

So basically, you should have just said, "My opinion differs from some people's, please conform to my tastes."
Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

I'm going to get past the fact that your original post was a bit childish and such, but I'm also going to point out to all of the people who responded to you that it's no different from everyone bitching about "TOO MUCH LINKIN NARUTO BALL Z VIDEOS WITH CRAPPY QUALITY AND EDITING BLAH BLAH BLAH".

In order to help you search for more videos that YOU enjoy, you must first tell us specifically what KIND of videos you enjoy. Action? Drama? Romance? Comedy? Trailers? What animes do you like, and what kind of music?

There are a LOT of really talented people at the org, and even more people who are just starting and have POTENTIAL to become talented. This is how it is and how it will always be. DEAL WITH IT.

Now answer my questions so I can help you.
First off, good post. You continue to instill me with faith for people with SSJ names j/k ;).

In any case, you're right in that it's the equivalent of when people bitch about "Linkin Ball Z" videos and so on, so it's interesting to see the double standard.

Regardless, as SSJ has kindly tried to do, why don't you rephrase your question more politely like:

"I'm looking for some good Drama videos to the show XYZ?" or something along those lines.

As you can see, this has no negative underdones or accusatory remarks behind it and people are generally more receptive to such a request. Hell even something as broad as "I'm looking for some good videos, anyone got a recommendation?"

If you considered using that degree of courtesy, I imagine most of us would be more inclined to help you ;)

If you want to sing, then sing.
If you want to dance, then dance.
If you want to draw, then draw.
If you want to make amv's, then make amv's.
If you want to share these things with people, then share.
If you want to dislike what other people do, then dislike it.

Don't expect people to stop doing what they like, and don't expect other people to stop acting like dicks about it.

Deal with it, and life goes on.

Sorry that the rest of us aren't smart enough to talk too...

You seriously gotta work on this thing called courtesy. It usually generates less flamatory responses and more on-topic responses...

So if I give you a mariah carey video using Sailor Moon that still has AWESOME EDITINGNESS, you would still like it?

Just making sure...
The best effects are the ones you don't notice.
