I cry when I hit the render button...

Because Premiere crashes when I do that.

I say yes, it's kind of like the people saying Anime is dying in japan. EVen though the number of shows coming out and the quality are both increasing. AMVs are the same, we continue to get more creators and more AMVs and in my book that means we aren't dying outl.

I generally just make whatever comes to my mind. It usually sucks. Myself, I'd love it if I could put more emotion into my work. But, I am very bad at expressing myself, even when I want to, so I don't genrally do a very good job of it.

People work from their own ideas. Sometimes it turns out good, other times badly. But, there will always be people creating. AMVs are like any other art form; they are a style of expression. Of what you enjoy, of what you find important, of simply what you want to say. People will always create. And, I think, as long as there are people willing to do this AMV thing, they will. If not, they won't. Simple as that.

Art is about doing what you feel like doing and hoping other people don't hate it. Whether it's AMVs or pottery, the same principle applies.

In my opinion, yes there is. However, it seems that emotional expression and its reactions differ from person to person. For example, this is the way some of my videos come about, I get angry, and make a somewhat senseless gore video. This is an expression of my anger, and therefore, emotional in my eyes. Some people will be like, "Yeah, that made my day." whereas others will be like "Crappyness and useless bleh". Some people see some things differently than others, its as simple as that.
The best effects are the ones you don't notice.

let's not forget that 90% of everything is crap, that means that 90% of AMV's are carp, as well as 90% of the creators. So when someone says that most AMV''s are crap, as n00bish and uninformed as he may be, his is still probably right, but what should be pointed out to these people who look down on 100% of AMV's because of the crap 90% is that there are those 10% out there that are nothing shy of spectacular. And praise should be given to those who made them. :D
So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab

There's no recession ..."yet", just a minor laps if you can even call it that. Frankly I find no recession in the amv community as far as videos go, as for the people....I don't think enough people right now appreciate the fact that this site even exists, I sure do, without it my vids may have never been seen by the public for a long time. Without this site, though there are others similiar to this..but not that much, creaters will still have been scattered across the internet, relying on webrings and such to hopefully become somewhat well known to anyone who knows of AMV's.
