Happy song happy video.
Angry song, angry video.
Happy song angry video, wtf?!!
Convoluted lyrics, random video moods, were you on drugs then?
Popular tune, crummy video content, bad syncing could you try a little harder please?
Typical tune, popular video sequences, a nauseating barrage of special effects, pat on the head, yes dear you are so clever, now run along and play.

Anime, one of the few things about the internet that doesn't make me hate the internet.

If that's the case, I could point to several other threads that already exist on "how do you come up with your concept" without so much beating around the bush by trying to ask the same question a different way.LivingFlame wrote:While true, the proposed question is still relevant as, by this logic, asking "how others decide on their audio X video combination," is the same as asking how others come up with their concept.BasharOfTheAges wrote:When people are saying that "a series and a song don't fit", what they're really saying is "your concept either sucked or was executed poorly" but by saying it's the song and anime, not your concept, they're deflecting blame from you onto the sources you used so they don't seem so direct and in-your-face about the whole thing.

The underlying story here also can be that a lot of people have preconceived notions about what kind of AMV you can make to a certain song or series. If you do something that does not conform to those notions and it makes them mad, then they believe the song x anime pairing was a failure.BasharOfTheAges wrote:When people are saying that "a series and a song don't fit", what they're really saying is "your concept either sucked or was executed poorly" but by saying it's the song and anime, not your concept, they're deflecting blame from you onto the sources you used so they don't seem so direct and in-your-face about the whole thing.
If you - the editor - can't believe in your own AMV, then good luck trying to get anyone else to.
