'Uneditable' music? Difficult concepts?

Time for some discussion and meta-discussion and meta-meta-...err, yeah!

Anyway, I've always held the principle that all songs can be made into anime music videos using proper editing to be sacrosanct (in fact, I hold to the strong form of this principle, that all songs can be made into Lain videos using proper editing). But there are songs out there that are more difficult than others...now, the question is, if one likes a song well enough, do you try to 'do the impossible' and force fit an anime to it, do you throw the concept away as being unworkable, or do you do something inbetwwen (I like to file things away for future making when my skills (maybe) improve). What ideas have you had that just WOULDN'T work? Or WOULD THEY?

I used to think anything can be edited to but over time I've become more and more convinced that it's just plain impossible to edit well to a linkin park song.

Lemme see here....

I'm thinking that any song can be edited to properly and with interesting editing, however, I also feel that there is a point and time at which a song can no longer be edited to in order to bring about original content. Kind of along the ideas of what godix was talking about.

Yet I digress.

I've grown more skeptical. Perhaps less so of the general possibility of videos to anything, but certainly more of my own ability to edit to anything. I've run up against a lot of music lately which I would love to edit to but can't either conceptualize with anime footage, or I can conceptualize it but the technical requirements of the idea are well outside my ability and willingness.

Exactly. You can do it, it'll just suck. But it can still be done.

Unsynchable Songs do not exist (at least for me)

But I guess iron chefin' helps a lot, since you get to edit a lot of different songs (even some really akward ones) and that'll help you improve editing and synching very different music.
