If you think this is without repercussions, think again. Either the song gets trashed, or, if I like the amv enough, I just run it through an editor, cut your opening sequence off, and thereafter, anyone I show it to, gets the version where you don't get credited.

So people, be proud of your creations, but, tone done the friggin noise level.

I mean, it certainly sounded angry to me...

A lot of Hollywood movies are this way

Or you see the trailer, and you've basically already seen the movie

But also I remember hearing some director, and I can't remember who, say something like "what, do fancy credits? Forget that, that's just money wasted on fancy credits that I could have put into the actual MOVIE!"

I like my bumpers short and to the point and little to no audio (certainly not audio that clashes with the video theme/mood itself). The only exception I've found are some of the ones AtomX has been tagging on to his videos lately; that essentially feel like the credit sequence is part of the video itself and really belongs there the way it is.
