What does it take to get a 4.0 + star rating?

I think star reviews are significant.. opinions are a lot of fanboyism.. go to gamespot and check out some user reviews for really good games(halo *cough*).. people over exaggerate and give all ones or all tens.. I've falled victim of that mainly for using dbz in one of my videos.. or whatever.. maybe I'm wrong but I've always paid attention to star reviews for some reason.

Oh yeah... hehe.. go check out naruto reviews at animenfo.com.. a lot of people give it all ones because of it's popularity and think they're a lot more superior in intelligence compared to the naruto fans or something like that....................................x_rex30 wrote:I think star reviews are significant.. opinions are a lot of fanboyism.. go to gamespot and check out some user reviews for really good games(halo *cough*).. people over exaggerate and give all ones or all tens.. Considering I'll sometimes download a video, forget to watch it, then forget where I downloaded it to four or five weeks later and then notice my star rating requirements fill up, and guessing that the video wasn't THAT memorable, I'll usually give it a 2 or 3. I've found a few of those videos later and had to correct star ratings, but I imagine some people wouldn't go to the trouble.

I can see this happening a lot of times. I usually try to seek out the video the best I can before rating it and skip it if I can't find it. As little effort as that takes it still takes a bit and there's plenty of people that complain about being forced to rate a vid at all (So there obviously not going to rate a vid fairly unless it makes a fairly good impression)badmartialarts wrote:Considering I'll sometimes download a video, forget to watch it, then forget where I downloaded it to four or five weeks later and then notice my star rating requirements fill up, and guessing that the video wasn't THAT memorable, I'll usually give it a 2 or 3. I think the title of the vid is very important to put into an AMV if you want someone to remember it (or at least have a way to identify the amv by). I've seen some pretty awesome vids that for one reason or another the creator left out the title from appearing in the vid itself (No credits whatsoever except on the filename itself). The title in itself helps with the above problem.
There really isn't any sure way to get over a 4, but I'm guessing a good song with good editing, some good effects, as well as a trinkle of wide audiance appeal (Nothing overly anything, or Everything you can think of, or whatever) might do the trick.
One of the best ways I think would be to add some comedy of some sort into your AMV.

I find it difficult to find some AMVs cause their title and file name differ, I'm glad that they now have the file name there so i can see what is what.. (thanks!) but it was kinda difficult to remember the AMV if the file name was different (I try to keep the title and file name the same with my AMVs now)Vancore wrote:I think the title of the vid is very important to put into an AMV if you want someone to remember it (or at least have a way to identify the amv by).

I like what Koop, DokiDoki, AD, Kusoyaro, Sierra Lorna, aielI_Ileia, and others do which is in addition to using the title in the filename, they begin with either their member name or studio name. (e.g. [aielI_Ileia] Goodies.avi)JaddziaDax wrote:I find it difficult to find some AMVs cause their title and file name differ, I'm glad that they now have the file name there so i can see what is what..
