Danny, I see your point exactly, and I think you see my point exactly. Sure, there are more people. Sure, there will always be noobs. Sure, we
shouldn't harass/jeer them, but some things are just too idiotic to understand. One such thing would be the "Can I join a studio?" thread? You can
make your own studio. If you're looking for more people, ask if others if they want to join.
You know what, I think it would be superb if the people who posted the "Can I join a studio?" threads all formed a singular studio. Seriously, that would be fucking awesome. I doubt it would happen, though, but who knows. My suspicion is that they want to be grouped with some big name editor
(Me joining RVP
) so their name will become a little more prevolent.
As for asking questions on how to make effects, how to use Premiere, how to download videos...in theory, you should be able to figure most of this out on their own. Maybe not how to use Premiere and make effects, but definently how to navigate this site. Also, not everyone uses Premiere to make videos, and not all the effects in videos can be done in Premiere. More often than not, the "effects" are a combination of effects, to which a lot of time and effort have gone into. But (And this is a generalization, I know) for the more part, people just want an easy Click-N-Drag way to do them, and when they don't get it, or find out how involved it is, they get upset or disinterested.
I guess you could say the message I had in mind when I created this thread was "Read the forum some before you make your thread," but now it's more "You need to take time to learn and do things for yourself." This isn't limited to newbies, either. I have seen many a senior member get their knickers in a square knot when someone doesn't post a link to their video in the Announcements forum. I mean, sure, it's a common courtesy, but is it that hard to go to the Super Search and find it, if you're really interested? I don't think it is.
