I haven't seen that anime, but it sounds like the problem is in how you interpret the show more than the video itself. If he sees the anime in a different way, he'll depict the relationship differently. That's called being different - most people do that when they watch things. Sure, a majority of vids won't agree with his interpretation, but that doesn't mean anything - it actually makes him more original for having taken something and looked at it from a different viewpoint. If you don't agree with his views, let him know and go find vids made by people who think the same thing you do about the anime. You'll be happier. My guess is I'd prefer that video to most I've seen for that anime, so I fall into the same category - I don't see things the way the majority of viewers do.
As for the title of this thread, I find a few things distasteful in anime. Namely when people use certain parts from an anime that I consider hard to watch. For instance, in action vids I tend to stay away from certain scenes that seem to insult the characters I like. If I'm making/watching a YYH vid I don't want to see one that shows the scene where Kurama 'dies' during his fight with Karasu. I did use it in a video once, but I still feel uncomfortable when I watch that one clip - it's an embarassment to my view of the anime. I have quite a few similar scenes from DBZ that I hate to see used because they make me uneasy. It's just a matter of how you view the scenes, though. I'm sure there are others who don't see them the same way I do - they wouldn't be bothered by them like I am. Another would be the part in Rurouni Kenshin where Kenshin gets bitten - it's just not something I want to see, and a vid that used that clip would be distasteful for me.
Anything else, genres, storylines, whatever depends more on how I view the anime. But you'd have a hard time getting me to enjoy a video that includes those scenes I'm uncomfortable with.
