We do not have a "hush-hush" policy, but the accused person should at least know what he is being accused of before you go trying to form a lynch mob to go after them. At this point, your goal isn't about protection or understanding, but revenge.
No, we do not tolerate video thievery. You reported the video theft. That is good. However as we have not yet investigated the video theft, then a) we have no official response for you other than we have not gotten around to it and b) we cannot confirm nor deny that there was thievery involved. These matters take time because the administration are people too and things like real life get in the way of doing things as fast as you might like them to be resolved.
Good. We are talking. I like that. I see your points. Now please see mine.
1) I sent an e-mail 8 days ago. To an address from the official FAQ. It does not specify how long it takes you to answer. I figured that 8 days is enough if not for an investigation but at least for an aknowledgement. "Yes, we got your complaint, give us X days to check the matters" would be nice.
2) Okay, that method of communication failed. I did not accuse you of anything at that point. The mail could be lost in spam and the name of it "stolen video" might truely sound a little like porn ad. Fine.
3) I go to forum. Here happens my only mistake that I see. I was thinking too much about
administration so that the word
moderator didn't click the right way for me. I looked through all the available forums twice and found nothing better than General AMV. I am sorry about that, I really am.
4) I did not ask for a mob. Please read my post. I wanted several things: a) to be noticed by administration; b) for them to take actions against the accused after they confirm he is guilty (if they don't, which seems pretty hard to me with all the evidence, that's another story); c) for people to
know that they were fooled and to
check if they can find anything else stolen by that guy; d) if anyone gave their opinion to that guy it would be nice and fair if they wanted to leave another opinion to the original creators.
5) I agree that a person has a right to know if being accused. But probably letting the person to destroy the evidence is not the best idea. That is why I tried first to let know the people who could be taking actions against the guy. What is the point in telling them
after the person?
6)
I did not suggest you contact the person directly, I called you out for admitting you had not done so before posting this thread.
I totally do not understand this part. You did not suggest me contact this person but for not doing so I was called lazy.
we, as a site, do not tolerate harassment because you're too lazy or offended to contact the person directly
7) I do seek understanding and protection. If I also seek some revenge it does not cancel or devaluate my other intentions. If you doubt that then re-read step 4. I do not need an angry mob. I already have one. We could be spamming guy to death or something for a week already. But instead I am trying to convince the administration of a-m-v.org that to resolve such disputes is their business not some mob's. Banning a proved fraud
is for protecting other people from his actions.
