The public is more then a few friends at your house.. It does not matter if you have to have a membership or not, it's still technically free distribution of music unless the mbmership money pays for a licence fee (or the site does).... This is not the case so it's still illegal according to copyright...

just really sucks that i cant enjoy the cd i bought ... it seams like false adviertisement. you can by a cd. and rip the music. and use it on a anime. but you must have a liscence to show it ?
would it be illigal if all the org did was show the amv , instead of leting it be downloaded ? like that stupid site launch...
that seams like a solution . am i still strong ?

Re: oh ok.
Do you happen to know how many videos are put onto this site a day???? just count how many are ont this site when you do a search, add like maybe 20-30 a day. (Probably more) That soulition wont work and would cause a lot of taskhandling which was already discussed that we are reaching our max as it is.didrox wrote:

When you buy a CD, you have the right to enjoy it.. Add a few friends and it's still ok... That's what rights you have when paying for the CD... But start playing to a crowed or distribute it to others and you've crossed the line...
Showing it still needs licencing... That's why for instance, cons have to pay if they want to show Miyzaki films as Disney owns the distro rights here... The only reason Anme COmpanies don't charge licening fees to show is that they need the fans to be exposed... But technically you still need permission to show it...

I have no idea what that entails, but I somehow doubt it's a good idea, as Phade himself has said time and again before to not draw attention to the .org , even if it's seeking legal means of making AMVs. It'll just draw attention to the site, and risk another C&D or worse, as virtually everyone here does NOT have licenses for the music or anime they use.didrox wrote:yeah .. you guys were right and im fresh out of ideas. good news is when i turn 18 and get a get a credit card i donate to buy those lisences....

I think you need to learn how the music industry works, and why working with them is a pain in the ass unless you have LOTS of money on hand.

The original poster doesn't have the foggiest idea what he's talking about. Hope that helps, have a nice day!Scintilla wrote:Who was it that said that buying a CD only gets you a license to the music? I just picked up the closest audio CD I had and looked through everything that came with it and nowhere did I find anything to that effect. Help?
