I agree this software can't be totally new. The Blockbuster commercials, the Quizno's baby, miscellaneous commercials and movies with live action talking cats and dogs...they can't be editing these frame by frame.

For the rest of us, there's the (not so) old fashioned method.

Sitepal has something similar for 2D (and it's very creepy, IMO).

Phoneme shapes can be viewed here.

While its not totally new, it might be the first commercial product you can buy. For example the software used to make the fight sequences in The Two Towers was somethign that they made to use in that movie. I don't think its for sale to a consumer at this point. Perhaps they keep it inhouse for the next movie they make, or whatever, but you can't buy that specific application.

It will be intereting to see how this is when it gets released. I wouldn't mind trying it.

Actually, rose4emily created one at some point. He used it to help the Animasia project along.

If the software does what it says it does if and when it is released, it'd be interesting to see the outcome of some of your amv's.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I wouldn't use it for lipsynching (though it might be cool to see some dance/upbeat videos using that program.)

What I would do with it is try to modify expresions to create better mood/story synch and give the visuals a uniqe twist without a lot of time intensive editing.
