I'm wondering why it's such a big deal.
It wouldn't be if this happened only once, but this user keeps doing the same with his every video.
I don't know, why be so stupid? Be on the Top10% can be his big wish and can be the wish of many of us ^_^ But do it.. Without deserve it even a little.. WHERE is the soddisfaction??? WHERE is the proudness??? I don't get it. :?

He has at least 14 duplicate accounts. That alone should get him a light slap on the wrist at the very least. But he makes new ones for each vid and goes back and adds those to the old vids as well as the new ones. That's one person with the 'strength' of 16 members.

Do a snowball imagining on how that sort of behavior could affect things. The last time I edited my 'reviews given' scores, I managed to single-handedly change the 'site average' scores and drastically affect the top 10 list. If the site is really aiming for 'popular choice' on that list, they should be wary of individual members who have such a heavy hand in the ranking system.

If there's no proof (IP tracking) that he's abusing the system, they should say so and we can lock these threads when they pop up. If he is abusing the system, something should be done to curb that sort of behavior.

Like Arigatomina said, multiple accounts, knew when I saw the number of ops. It's so easy to do.

Theirs enough proof without having to check the guys IP. Check the profiles of everyone that OP'd the vid. Its obvios most of them are just duplicate acounts. I say we burn him at the stake, but a ban would work too.

Duplicate accounts? An account need an email address and a confirm. Right? How can this be?o.O I quote about burn him =_=

About the Top10% sensibility, yes I saw this also by myself.

I choose for the burn... hey why not not banning him, simply take away all his reviews (from the same IP if that's logged... i think it is though)

If you go to the viddo, and look at the reviews information, to see who left a review, you will see that most of them are 'free' type email providers like yahoo or hotmail. So, a person simply signs up for a hotmail account, registers to the .org and leaves stellar reviews for themself. Thats when the tactical nuclear MODs look into things.

When you look at the user profile for each one, you'll see that they have 0 posts, and two reviews, AND no profile information. Look at the profile of an actual member and you'll see comments, usully a profile pic, maybe some favorite videos listed... On the other hand, maybe all of his friends are DD and can't type.

A shame really, since the video isn't really all that bad in the grand scheme of things..

Not only that, but it takes maybe 10 minutes to 'confirm' a new account (reply to the 'confimation' email). And if you line up the reviewing accounts by join-time you see the ones created on the same day tend to be made about 10-20 minutes apart - just the amount of time it would take to make one, confirm it, leave a review, and log out so you can make the next one.

But it would still need to be 'proven' with a service provider check. I don't know if you can do that with accounts created the way you can with posts made.

This is a nice way to get attention for a video - to toss it up to the 10 list where people are likely to notice it (and to realize it isn't a bad video). But it defeats the purpose, right? It sends a bad message that the org doesn't even try to disuade this sort of behavior.

So what?

So long as he's only corrupting the top 10% list (oh no, what a horrendous crime  ) and not becoming a drain on site resources, let him have his fun. (No, >= 14 duplicate accounts is not a massive strain on site resources.)

I guess the administrators can take action if they really think it's necessary.
