When someone makes a video that you wanted to make....

This has been discussed a number of times before.

Personally, if someone made a video that I always wanted to make, I would be very happy and leave it alone. But of course, about the main reason I make AMV's is that noone else wants to do what I want.

But a music/anime combination isn't all there is to a video. If you feel you can make something different, something that will please you personally better than another person's video to the same combo, by all means.

Just don't make or avoid making videos because someone might think you're (un)original. Do them if you feel you need to, and don't let others' views bother you.

Do you want to make someone else gripe and get as pissed as you do when you're in that situation? You know it'll slide off eventually. Is it worth maybe upsetting someone the way you get upset?

You know they'll get over it, and you'll have your video to enjoy a lot longer than that person might gripe. Plus, you'll get a chance to see *your* video, since the other one doesn't satisfy you.

I'd say be selfish. But if it offends you when you're the one who 'made it first,' you probably shouldn't be the 'bad guy' and do that to someone else. It depends on your personal view of the situation. ^_^;

Haha i understand your point of view ^_^. I guess i would feel good if i was the guy who made the vid...but than again if i didnt id be mad!!!

Otohiko, no one will ever steal one of your ideas. Each one is inconceivable until watched. (except maybe "Dangerous Curves" but who would know the song?)

As for me I think it would be awesome, unless it was done very badly.

It happened to me once, it was an Akira video using Joan Jett's song "I love Rock and Roll". I was lucky that the other one suck major @$$, so mine looked pretty good in comparison.
But back on topic, make it anyway, there is no way of knowing that the one that is already out there is better than your until you make it. Just try not to get "Inspired" by that other video and make it to the best of your abilities. If yours is better put it up, if it isn't put it up anyway, it couldn't have been that bad really (unless it's a Linkin' BallZ like video).

So good luck, and i hope you are willing to mention once what that video is, kind of curious now.

It kinda dismotivates me when someone else has an already finished version of the idea I wanted to use, but if it turns out average or below average then I'll just make my own version.

Well it happened to me a couple times. The 2 main ones that pissed me off were.....

I was about half way into this vid when he released it...At that point i didnt think i could do better cause he had all those neat effects and stuff but i sooner later found out i may be able to do better. And my vid did have a diff theme. But with all the hype thats around that video and how its like #4 on top 10 % seems like that one i should just give up on. (P.S. Im not saying anything bad about your vid Einhänder encase you read this. Infact i liked your vid ^_^)

Eh this guy had the idea before me so i didnt really get mad....but i do get mad when the vids have the themes i want cuz i wanted to make the vid with Lee!! lol. Oh ya and this vid was really cool when i watched it though. I liked what he did with Lee but i wasnt too into how he put audio of the episodes and the episodes had background music in them so it sounded a bit wierd.(If you didnt get what i just said than go and watch it and youll find out ^_^) I dont plan on making this one cuz the theme would be exactly the same basically.

I recommend all of you to watch these two videos ive mentioned.

Well.....ive been wondering if people ever thought what happened to me. I havnt made vids in a while. I have made some MV's that i didnt post cuz i thought they sucked (and they did so dont ask me to post them up)....and ive been practicing my trailer making skills by making a couple teasers for animes and such. The main reasons of why i dont make MVs as much is because there have been troubles in my life this year and school keeps getting in the way

. Sometimes im just real lazy and cant find a theme -_-. But ill come back soon dont worry bout it ^_^.

With an anime as popular as Naruto you'd have to expect that a lot of ideas have been used already.
