Sorry, I don't mean to go off on a rant, but OH MY FUCKING GAWD that series just takes the art of ass raping exposition to a level that not even DBZ could dream of touching.

If you were to go through and cut out every piece of repeated footage you'd probably wind up with less than 20 episodes.

Uh...speed vids aside (Iron Chef types), the reason it takes him 30mins to make a vid is because it takes that long to import and produce a video with Windows Movie Maker. All he does is switch the audio. That only takes as long as it takes to 'import, add audio, export' - nothing more.

If he didn't use such a large bitrate (we're talking 60mb wmvs here), he could 'make' amvs even quicker than that.

There seriously has to be more severe reprocussions for breaking these kinds of a-m-v.org rules. As in temporary to permanant banning.

Not going to happen. Most people here don't care. Others don't realize how widespread it is because they rarely download 'unheard-of' creators' videos to see exactly how many are just reproducing the stock already out there.

And people complain about there being too many 'repetitive' videos.

I really hate to sound whiney. But I just can't understand why people wouldn't care. It takes days to rip a full series from DVD, and then the scene selecting, editing, effects, timing...its HARD to make, and you put yourself into it. ... its just downright disheartening to think people wouldn't care.

I think it comes down to the definition of 'make' around here.

Think of the infamous DBZ vids - there were a set number of sites where everyone and his brother could download the same *limited* clips and episodes. That meant most if not all videos were using the same stock source - those sites. Well, that's what we have going on here - only instead of finding websites with 'clips' and 'episodes,' they're just getting the entire videos. It's quicker, less to download (no excess scenes to leave out when they're all packaged nicely for you), little editing necessary - if you get an amv with some timing you can lay it on lots of songs and pretend to have done some work, and the sources are extreme - we have a lot of videos here for them to go through.

The only problem is the people who honestly believe that's what amv 'makers' do - they copy and paste each other's vids. It's sad. Where do they think the original vids came from if everyone is just copying after each other? And what's the future of a site where new members come in and learn fast that their 'work' is up for grabs and they might as well not do any 'work' at all?

I don't know why so few people care. I think it degrades the entire idea of 'making' music videos. But I'm in the minority.

I totally agree. It sucks. I've emailed the admins, you should do the same. Dunno what that will do. Oh well!
