Blood: The Last Vampire has a small scene where a band plays. There's insteresting views and cuts of a tenor Sax, Trumpet, and if memory serves, drums, too.

Earthian has a full episode dedicated to a singer/rockstar, with lots of interesting scenes, there.

Then, you always have Violinst of Hamelin.
Whole anime with violins... I may have spelled it wrong, though.

I have no idea which to correct first. First of all, this guy's living proof that the state of California is NOT at the bottom of the education system (in grammar and English anyway). And secondly, that there is no such thing as a "sax piano" or even a saxophone or piano shown in Cowboy Bebop.

Heyyyyy, however, doesn't CB have a band somewhere in there? Moon of Jupiter, I think, Gren the hormonally challenged guy played saxophone, I believe.

Aoba from Evangelion (long haired guy) plays the guitar.

Also Shinji plays the cello, Asuka plays the violin, i think Kaworu plays the viola, and Rei plays something too but I don't know what (you see all of that in Death and Rebirth)

Lord Ilpalazzo from Excel Saga plays the guitar (badly, but still)
