Need FF8 Footage...Where?!

Post by delirium_sj » Fri Apr 16, 2004 9:41 pm

Can anyone tell me where I can download good quality Final Fantasy (any but especially 8) cutscenes? My sister wants me to make this AMV with Incubus' Here in My Room but I can't find any footage. Help!

yeah, but I'm not sure how to get the footage off it. Do I have to play the whole game again? or can I put it straight to the computer somehow?

I'd recommend PSXMC for this - as long as you have a cd rom on your computer, you can get the footage easily, and at good quality. Quu has a guide on getting game footage (on the member main page, 'guides' - the link on the left), but you'd probably do best to just do a google search for psxmc and learn it yourself. It's very simple - you just read the disc looking for video files, and then you select the ones you want and save them in the format of your choice (huffyuv looks pretty good), then import the clips in your editor and go from there. I'm sure there are guides to using psxmc on the net - google search should turn some up for you.

hey! it worked! I just tried it on Wild Arms 2! but I tried a PS2 game & it couldn't find it. I wonder if it matters if the ps2 game is dvd-rom or cd-rom?

Hey for a second there I had a dream. A dream about a program that could flawlessly rip PS2 FMV.

But dreams are like rainbows. Only idiots chase them.

Look in the 'General Video' section of the forum for a post by Castor Troy - he gives a guide there on how to rip ps2 games. I don't know if you have to have a dvdrom to rip them, but they're much more complicated than ps1 games - his guide is the only one I know of. It should be on the first or second page of that section.
