Random shclop that's actually good!
Ever made an amv to something totally random and it turned out better than you thought it would?
*demands shameless plugs!

If you were searching for just music at random or something just SUDDENLY appeared that made no sense to you, but you decided to make an amv to it anyway, which amv was it that you made which felt entirely at random?
No ideas, no inspiration, no NOTHING, and BAM, you made an amv just cause it was whacked?

I'm working on one of those as we speak. =] It's called "Codename: CARS" or CnC for short... Spent over two hours on, so far. It includes Gran Turismo 3 footage and "Leave me far behind".
Funny story, really...
Was downloading the Meteora CD for Linkin Park for the Parkject(back when it was going to be) for ideas, since I couldn't buy the actual CD until a week from then... Some wierd guy put in "Leave Me Far Behind" instead of the first track.. And I was like.. "Hey.. Cars..." Three hours of funky car tricks and burnouts later.... I had myself the footage for an AMV.
But for something I already did, there's
this,
this,
this,
this,
this,
and this.
None of which are hosted.
And this, this, and this if purposely doing it because it's overdone and trying to make it look good counts.
Yeah... I'm a random person...=\

Something like that happened to me around April, right after I finished my first video (using Video Girl Ai footage). I was just driving, listening to the radio, and Liam Lynch's "United States of Whatever" played. I had heard it before, but never really thought about using it for anything. But having had to watch Video Girl Ai more times than I care to remember, I could think of a number of scenes that would go with the lyrics. So, the end result was a combination of the two, just a short vid. I don't intend on putting it up, but it's fun to watch once in a while.

And I wish I'd never made it, because it has more hits than any of my other videos.
Damn thing took me two months to make and it blows. It has no coherence or structure, it's just a bunch of themed clips. And what's worse is that I didn't know it had already been done before by far superior editors.
It did turn out better than I thought it would at the time, but now I see that random clips + good song = crap unless you really, really, really know what you're doing.
And I don't.

My first AMV was made after listening to Steve Winwood while photoshopping some Macross wallpaper. You can't get more random than this one. It's fun to watch if you're not easily annoyed by grainy/blocky compression. Then there's this out of the ass production which more than a few people have PM'd me saying they really liked (why they never left ops instead, I dunno', but whatever works). I don't know whether to be ashamed of that one or not, cuz I actually did put some effort into it.
