I generally don't like an amv right after I've finished it - unless it's one I did very quickly.

I overdosed on SRV during making it to the point that I didnt appreciate it until months later. I like it now, natch

Somehow, I've managed to never really have that problem. I think I enjoy watching videos I've just completed (or, in the case of the current one, are just awaiting an effect someone is graciously helping me with to be finished) as much as ones that were completed nearly 7 years ago.

That's not to say I don't see problems with them (or have others point them out) , but at least with the newer ones unless it's something -really- glaring that I think ruins the video, I try to resist going back and tweaking with it so I can get started on the next project.

Trythil, look man... I know all about those details and how they add up. But when I take a look at that picture as a whole, the only thing that stands out to me is the thickness of the outline. And the shadow...

But all that other stuff is hard to see without trying. The gradient... who the hell singles out gradients? And the slightly jagged edge.... Maybe you didn't achieve what you were attempting with a lot of that, and so it looks very bad to you. But to those that don't know, you were attempting something different and succeeded. While that may not be what you want, you can't say it sucks.

Yes and no. Mostly the videos that I think I could improve on, I think I could improve on while making it but for one reason or another, I don't. But I do feel like I'm gettinbg better because I keep eyeing things I normally wouldn't and generally get more anul retentive to things that need changing.
