The General Questions Thread
I thought this would be a good idea. This thread will be a collection of questions asked by you and answers from others. If you have a general question that has been nagging you, post it here and someone will try to answer it. For the people who are answering, quote the person's question you are answering. I'll start this.
What causes that high-pitch ringing in your ears out-of-the-blue? I'm sure this has happened to everyone: your standing anywhere and, for a few seconds or even minutes, a loud, high-pitch ringing is heard and then goes away without a trace.

Re: The General Questions Thread
Well do you mean the sudden ringing in your ears after you've left a loud disco or similar? That is because the ear drops into protective-mode and things around you appear more silent (what's the opposite of louder in english again ^^) than before but you hear this ringing all the time.Lone Wolf wrote:I thought this would be a good idea. It's not tinitus (but can get one if TOO frequent) but maybe the ear concentrates more on the ringing than the ambience so that it wouldn't get an overflow of the loudness

So the consens is it is some sort of cool integrated protection
