Is DDR really good for ypu?

Post by SilverAeon » Thu Jul 10, 2003 4:23 pm

People always tell me about how much weight theyve lost playing DDR. Im not doubting them cause ive seen lots of drops in body mass after extended periods of playing Dance Dance Revolution. :!: I wonder.....? But is it actually a good aerobic excercise, and if it is, did Konami make it for this purpose? Hmmm :?

hmm, too bad this wouldn't apply to ppl wit the homes versions that play using the game system controllers (for ex: ps2 version with ps2 controller)
but most ppl i think would pay for the floor mats to make the home experience as fun as the arcade

can u lose fat in ur fingers, or will u just get carpol tunnel syndrome sumhow? lol

DDR is only aerobic for about 90 seconds at a time, unless you play Oni/Nonstop mode.
It's still really good exercise, especially for building leg muscles. I'm this skinny ass white guy with thighs that could crush your skull now. My shins actually look almost cancerous - the muscle bulges out like a bigass tumor on the back of my leg. But I've got mad hops now ^_^
A couple summers ago when I still only really played the home version, I would sometimes spend one day on a weekend doing DDR for maybe 6 hours or so with little to no break. Now THAT'S good exercise.
But I don't recommend using home versions for people serious about competing, but if you're just interested in the exercise, go for it.
