I don't even know how they're going to fit the latter two characters into the game, what weapons they are going to give them. Have all of these been confirmed? Because surely they couldn't be that stupid/cruel to XBOX/PS2 owners? Dante would have been a kick ass character to put into the PS2 version, and he'd fit in with the sword and the such, why must they make me suffer so?

Soul Calibur 2 Secret Characters...
Now Link I can understand, shame I'll have to put up with that damned controller if I want to get that version, but the other two are mind-numbing. First off Spawn just plain has nothing to do with the XBOX at all, and Heihachi, geez, they should have realised that no one likes Tekken...

Does the extra character really matter that much? Personally, I'm prolly not even gonna use whoever's the extra on whatever version I'm buying. I really think people are making way too big a deal of this.

I know what you mean, but when the Gamecube version is getting a half decent character, and we're getting ripped off. I also have a scary completely unrealistic yet very real fear that Heihachi might infect Soul Calibur with Tekken's awful gameplay.....Vazor wrote:Does the extra character really matter that much? Are you serious? Heihachi? As the secret character in SC 2? I'm not worried about him infecting the gameplay, when I initially read up on it, the gameplay was going to be the same from SC. So it'd be like the difference between the two YoshimitsusJustAnOrdinaryPanda wrote:I know what you mean, but when the Gamecube version is getting a half decent character, and we're getting ripped off. And when you say Spawn and Link do you mean comic book Spawn and Zelda's Link? Cause that would like dumb to me.

Yup, it's Link from Zelda and Spawn from the comic. I really don't think they have anything to do with the story, just an extra gimmick to help sell the game.

Great time to be a multiple-system owner.... ^_~
As for the GameCube controller, I suggest the MadCatz controller. It's actually quite fantastic, despite their products in the past being crap. It's got a much nicer D-pad, the analogue stick has a rubbered top to keep your thumb in place, and it's got an extra "Z" button on the left side for those lefty-players.
Yeah. Definitely getting the GC version. No PS2 jaggies, no lame weapon-less Tekken character that I've always hated anyway! :D :D

I'll agree with you on the D-Stick being too fucking small, but the rest of the controller fits well to me. I thought it was a very high step up from that piece of crap N64 controller that hurt my hands when I tried to use it. (I never liked to put one of my hands on the center part.)
The game in itself looks good, but they're going against SoulCalibur by putting Heihachi in it because he doesn't really use a weapon, now does he? (I'm getting the GC version because that's the only Next Generation system I own.)

Link is in the mix simply cuz Namco employees originally wanted him in there. Similar to how Capcom wanted to and made Zelda3/4-Swords on GBA and Zelda:Seasons/Ages on GBC. They like Zelda.
Then Sony and MS stepped in, showed some of the $$$ and ba-da-bing! we have a weaponless Heihachi and axe-swingin' Spawn in skinny, revealing, masculine, tights.

Indeed, Heihachi won't be using any weapons in SC2 (but what the hell, at least they got rid of the diaper). Spawn'll have a big-ass battleaxe at his disposal, but no cape.
Kind of following what Professional666 was saying about picking a better character for the PS2 version, I was thinking that the X-box version would have absolutely kicked ass with Master Chief as a secret character. I could see how the licensing and fitting the character to the style of the game would be a problem though.
I'm still not sure which version I'm gonna pick up (I recently got a GC, thus setting me up with all 3 systems). Choices, choices...

Everyone is not the same as you.
