Misty is right.
Misty, you're right.
Soz. But I'm being serious. If you put up a publicly accessible mod box, then within an hour it will be flooded with complaints ranging from newbies who didn't like the response they got to a stupid question, to people sick and tired of the way others carry on with their holier-than-thou attitudes. Its not worth the hassle when it would be so much easier to just not pay attention to posts with a mental age of 10 and under. The only time that doesnt apply is when people go overboard and post huge pictures, or post lines and lines and lines of emoticons. I mean, I use the TAFE college that I attend for all my internet related stuff, I leech their bandwidth like a motherfucker, coz I can, coz it's easy, and coz of me, they're getting what they pay for.
But I know alot of you use dial-up connections (I feel your pain) and when some idiot decides to get smart and post a huge JPG or even worse BMP or GIF that no-one really wants to see, those people with dial-up suddenly find that their connection has completely shit itself. So maybe there should be a limit imposed on the size of attatchments or something.

Basically that is all they can do.
They can't ban people, just lock threads and delete posts. What else can they do besides tell Phade? And like I said, it IS insulting, rude and childish. But if you were the admin of a site, with a rent, a job and real life issues, would you really place that much importance on a thread by a child with nothing better to do? I think you'd get to it when you could since it's not that important.
It's rude but who is really hurting? They aren't going to take his opinion into consideration...now if this guy keeps attacking a lot of people he creates a negative atmosphere and the community here fights, may break up a little, and then it's worse....but to act like he's so important people may get upset and go cry or get angry...that gives him too much power. His opinion does not mean that much. Not enough to call up the admin to ban him right now...but I am certain he'll get what he deserves if he hasn't already.

I'm going to bed now, so let me just elaborate on this a little more before people ask question a pick it apart.Jace Tsunami wrote:Misty, that MJ/Tutter thread may have pushed us over the edge with MinnieMoose, but I wouldn't be so frustrated if this hadn't been going on for a long time, as in days.
I'm sure all the mods and all the admins have had a chance to observe MinnieMooses behavior, and no action has been taken.
All mods do is lock threads, walk away, and ignore the problem.
When I first notice a problem, I expect the mods to notice shrotly there after, and I give them sufficient amount of time to deal with it. You bring up an awsome point Misty, that most people with power on the forums are alseep at times of problems, I am however aware of this.
The problem is tho sufficient time goes by, and nothing gets done.
What makes me mad, is after all this time when the most moderatiojn issued is simply a thread locking when the mods are OBVIOUSLY aware there is a problem. I mean, don't you think they'd notice reacuring patterns? Pin point the problem? Do somehting about it? all they do is lock threads and let loose the problem to more trouble in another thread at anytime they choose.
Nothing ever gets done in a flaming situation.
I also find it highly frustrating that some one can link to goats in their sig, and be temerarily banned the next day. Obviously some one is paying attention that has some power.
The main problem with the flaming is, mods/admins only ever do something if it bothers them directly. Phade didn't ban Hatter until Hatter started threatning the forum and pissing off Phade directly, after over a MONTH of people telling Phade Hatter was a problem.
And Misty, if you're right, and the mods truly are tyring to make a difference but just not gettign around to it, they need to give some one power who can get around to it.
Klinky lives on the west coast, he'd of made a fine admin. There are plenty of thigns PHade cna do to help the situation.
Anyways, I'm going to bed now, I just wrote a whole lot and most of it's probably not even really nessisary. I was just tyring to make sure everyone understood my last words before I went to bed, so there wouldn't be a ton of people disagreeing with me in the morning, and a locked thread to wake up to.
Good Night.

It is painful.. specially when your isp is experiencing problems and you get even a worse than usaul ping when you connect to a dial up that's being hammered by varouis viruses.
But, I have a desk job at an office that has a fast connection so I spam during slow periods at work...
Jace.. sorry to make it seem like I attacked your idol... but your response only clarrifies my point. What you might find offense (I didn't even know what the other person said) others might find funny because they like the person.
Misty- Thats a good point.. But unfortunatly the forums getting crowded and more and more annoying people are moving in... People fighting cannot be helped.. Maybe I should just do as the mods do.. ignore stupid people then

Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else

Its pretty bad for me, coz I have NO internet at home. Hopefully I'll be moving in with somone soon who has cable, so on the nights I'm bored and I can't sleep, or edit (god there are so many of those) i can log on to the .ORG here and chat and post to my hearts content, while the bulk of the members are also awake!! You see, when I'm on, most people here are sleeping, being american and all.skanks wrote: *cries*
