Yes, the Architect is watching Neo in the interrogation room. You see a huge bank of tv screens, then it goes closer and scloser until it "enters" a screen, just like in the Architects little hidey hole in "Reloaded". I think that the Architect is not so much a "new" character as an old, but never seen character. What other explanations are there for all those TV's, because interrogation rooms usually dont HAVE that many, not even close.

Z said that she lost Dozer and Tank, her brothers. Dozer dies in the first, yeah, but since when is Tank dead?
My friend thought that he didn't want to be in the sequels, which wouldn't surprise me.

Indeed, I don't think he wanted to be in the next movies. So it's easily explained as Tank survived long enough to make it through the end of the first movie, but because of his severe wounds, didn't survive long enough to get medical attention.

Maybe explanations will be given in Animatrix ?
As Final Flight of the Osiris was an Introduction for Matrix 2 (have you seen it ? it was on TV in France a few days ago and... just wow !), maybe some other episodes explain things that we don't understand...
For example : who is that boy that Neo has "saved" and then wants to join the crew ? Maybe some explanations will be given in "Kids" ?

The only other Animatrix short that really directly ties in with Reloaded would be Kid's Story, which is in fact the story of how Kid was freed from the Matrix.

Everything else, besides the Final Flight of the Osiris, is a side story, or in the case of the Second Renaissance, a history lesson.

I don't think Tank is dead. I think what Z meant when she said that she lost both her brothers was that Dozer was killed, and Tank can't really do much of anything now since he's badly injured...
