Well, we have this "neutral" relationship. Its like, we get along most of the time, but thats when we aren't fighting. We don't do much with eachother; I do my own thing and they do theirs'.

My mom's cool. She chased my dad out of the house with a baseball bat when I was 9, raised 3 kids by herself, and lets me do whatever I want. Of course, I don't ask for much, so we get along great. We had one of those "I tell her everything except things that involve alcohol or drugs - the two taboo subjects." She's very intelligent, a little naive now that she's hitting her 40s (new boyfriend - finally), but easy going.

My dad's an ass. He got drunk on the job one day, drug a giant treestump into the back side of his truck and cracked his jaw to hell and back. As a result, he decided he'd addict himself to painkillers and drink up a storm - abusive, dumb old man. I hear he has emphazima (sp) now, probably from his 2 packs of unfiltered Marlboros a day routine. To sum up our relationship: He's dying and I still don't see why he called to tell us; I couldn't care less.

I have a fairly good relationship with my Parents, especially with my mum. I can talk to her bout most things but I dont usually...My dad's just boring now that he's 50.

Since this is for school, I'll be serious. My relationship with my parents is pretty good, more on the good side. I don't tell them everything, but we're all...I guess you could say, 'a small, happy family'. Not completely, but my dad's not a druggie and my mom's not having an affair...things are pretty rough for us financially, but we're all good.

I tell my sister everything though. I guess she's the one who knows me most. So I have the best relationship with my sister, not really my parents.

You wanna know something? You probably don't, but I'll tell you anyway: I'm pretty sure my mom likes my sis better than me, which is why I'm sorta cold to her now. It's so obvious..but of course, the parents always deny that. Grr. That's why my relationship with my mom is not ALL that great, but my dad's cool. I just don't talk to him about boys or my period, but other than that I usually go to him.

Currently, I guess the best way to describe it would be "stable." We hardly see each other now, so I guess we get along alright. However, my parents put me through a lot of shit in the past that's scarred me for life, (my mother especially), and I've never really forgiven them for it. I probably never will either. Although they seem to be trying to make up for it now that I'm over 500 miles away, so that's something at least.

I refuse to go into details. Sorry, but it would take a lot more than a polite request to get me to open up old wounds.

I was married, a parent and out of the house by the time I was 19, so I have rarely seen my parents much since then (maybe 5-6 times a year). They live in San Antonio while I live in Dallas (about 5 hours apart). When I was actually living with them, we got along pretty well since I was making my own money (working since I was 14) and had my own car. I basically came and went as a pleased and never had problems with school or work to get them on my case. I would say I was a low maintenence child.

I probably went to my father more for help than my mother but I really did my best to try and not botther either of them, I enjoyed the freedom of working out problems on my own.
