Im pretty good at DDR, and theyve got a machine at my work, so whenever i finish or im early for work i can play it.
The only problem is that when i stuff up i can only use one leg, so ill stand o my left and dance with my right...its a very funny sight.

I haven't lost much waight because of DDR... but I have leg muscles of god now. Those tough 9 footers will put the hurt on ya if you're not in shape... that's the thing though... you can be fat AND in shape at the same time.

I've been thinking of trying to use a fat burning dietary suppliment with my DDR sessions and seeing if it helps any. Especailly since I am starting on Oni courses.

Also, I have a rather expensive home pad.. nothing like those soft pad pieces of crap they sell at Gamestop... I mean the real deal.. close as arcade as you'll get without being there.. If you love DDR< invest in a hard pad. That's all I gotta say.

Back in 2001, in my first 5-6 months of playing DDR, I lost 65 pounds. Went from 235 to 170. I'm 160 now. So, I've kept it off. Though, I don't play nearly as much anymore as I did back then. I also played at home back then. And I did what Justin described (playing for like 6 hours in one day nonstop, while drinking alot of water). And speaking of water, try cutting out all soda and drinking nothing but water and juice. It REALLY makes a difference when it comes to losing weight. Soda is so unhealthy for you.

But to answer your question directly.

No. DDR is terrible for your health.

Only songs I have yet to pass are Maxx Unlimited Heavy, Legend of Max Heavy, and Paranoia Survivor Max Oni. And I just can barely scrape by Paranoia Survivor Max Heavy. :\ Blah.

xtc_kurama: it's on DDR Extreme (8th Mix)

Personally, I don't even really like DDR that much anymore. At least not compared to the other Bemani games. Beatmania IIDX is my favorite Bemani game. It's just so damn fun.
