Separate amv makers opinions

I dont know if this would work, but i think adding an option to separate opinions from amv makers and non creaters could do something to fight the inflated averages. When you have experience makin amvs, u can often have a better grasp of what went into a video and how good it really it is.

While feedback from fans who arent creators is just as important, it is a different type of feedback and will most likely follow different patterns in scoring and the such.

I dont know how hard it would be from a programming standpoint but since the org already has info on ppl who made entries for their vids, i wouldnt see at as bein too hard. Anyway, its just my two cents but I think that even if it didnt solve the inflated scores, it would lower them a little (at least on the amv creator side) and also as a creator, Id like to see the diff between what fellow creators think and what fans think.

I suppose that would be interesting, although I get the feeling that the scores would probably be closer than you think. AMV creators are hardly different from anyone else when it comes to opinions.

You can already do this on the top 10 list - filter by creator, fan, or 'all'.

If you mean have some mark on the opinion page so the owner knows who's leaving him feedback...well...he could always click the person's profile to see. I don't think having two scores on the vid description page (creator score and fan score) is necessary. We already get the extra star scores - all those 'extra' numbers would be messy after a while.

creators and non-creators may bring different perspectives on the video, but i don't believe either one is more important than the other. while creators may see some technical or editing-based aspects that non-creators can't, non-creators represent the majority of your audience and as such will give a rating more indicative of the opinion of the average viewer.

Just a couple notes after doin that:

Number one vid by score: Fans say Euphoria with a whopping 9.76 but creators say Taskmasta's Hear No Evil with a 8.85

Fans give 22 vids 10.0 on effects, creators give that to 13

Fans give half a pg worth of vids 10s on effort, creators give half as many

Fans give 17 vids 10.0 overall, creators give that to 4. Not one overlaps.

I could go on but my brief spurt of overcoming laziness wore out.

Yeah, I just tried the filters a little bit ago. I don't think the 'creator' filter is working properly. Not one of the vids on the list had more than 34 reviews. Either it's missing something, or creators don't give even 1/10 the reviews fans do.

Euphoria - 801 fan reviews, 1088 total reviews - not enough creator reviews to even register on the board (and it should have almost 300 creator reviews).

I'd say it's a bug on the creator count. >.<

Ah. That would explain things. In that case id like to see the real diff to see if its noticable.
