yearly top 10% ?

Post by bum » Thu Dec 16, 2004 7:08 pm

I thought of this while looking at the top 10% and realising that my next vid beter be damn good if theirs to be even a slight chance of me geting in their. SoI'm thinking, how about two seperate top 10% lists? one "ultimate" top 10% , and one yearly top 10%. With the yearly one, a video is removed after its bein on the list for a year. This could be helpfull to thoughs good editors who remain relatively unknows, and give less popular editors more exposure.

some would say the VCA's do this pretty effectively, although with less videos, but in more categories.

The VCA 'list' changes once a year, after a very lengthy wait. The list Bum is proposing would be updated daily, or weekly, or monthly - depending on how 'exact' the year is measured. It would be a moving list, not a "this year's best" list. After a year, the video gets shifted and placed wherever it fits into the Ultimate list (possibly not fitting at all).

The only problem would be starting the Ultimate - do you take the vids off the top 10 that were made over a year ago? That would do it. The vids left would move off as they reach the "made a year ago" mark. And the list would move - right now, you're lucky if one video moves after a few months of watching.

This is just another request for a mobile, current top 10 "new" vids list. Last I heard, they wanted to try something like that to have a moving list. This is another possibility they can consider.
