super search idea

Post by odian0 » Sun Dec 12, 2004 9:25 pm

i was just thinking, someone should add an ability to search amv's by the number of animes in each vid. have some option to search for number of animes listed, becuase i know i smetimes get frustrated by videos that have 10 + animes in them when i'm looking for vids with only one anime. well, just a suggestion, dunno if anyone has suggested this before.

I think there used to be (years ago) a box in the super search you could check that would disregard multi-anime vids - so that when you search for a single anime, it only reports videos using that anime.

But it's gone now. And yes, a few people have suggested it come back. I don't think it's a high priority right now, but it would be nice to have a "Ignore multi-anime vids" box.

Me, I'd rather have it both ways, with a "multi-anime vids only" box. I like to search for multi-anime vids, but the only real way to do it right now is to search for a rare (aka unpopular) anime that would only show up in a vid that already has dozens of others. :?

multi-anime vids are definatly going the way of the dodo, which is too bad, because their much harder to pull off very well.

Not to mention all that footage!

But really, in all cases I can think of, having multi-anime vids lumped with singles isnt too bad, unless you're doing something like `cowboy bebop' only... but then multi-anime vids arent your only problem in the search results. :D

The truth is, the current super search code really needs re-writing. No one seems to want to touch it...
