Star System
I don't quite get it. I know a friend of mine gave my video a three, then I had an 8. At which point my ratting was 3.25. This just doesn't make sense to me. At all. Will someone please explain it to me? Or at least tell me the formula used? Because it sure as hell isn't total stars/#of people giving stars.

No, in "edit my videos" this feild here [stars: 14] [star avg: 3.29] (this one doesn't make sense either, but I've got less of a basis by which to actually figure it). Before I noticed it at fourteen, it was something like this [stars: 8] [star avg: 3.25] The equation just doesn't equal out. Eh, I don't know, maybe my logic is flawed, but it doesn't make any sense how something with 8 stars could get anything higher than a three without being devided by two, and it deffinitly wasn't at the start...Kalium wrote:That 8 would seem to be an opinion. That has nothing to with star ratings.

Well first of all , questions like this should be posted in the "Site Help" forums , but let's wait for an admin move this thread , if they feel necessary.
Now.
In that time you had received 8 stars with scores between 1 to 5.Tono_Fyr wrote:[stars: 8] [star avg: 3.25]
That's your score now , 14 stars with scores between 1 to 5 , that means you've received higher scores after 6 new stars received.Tono_Fyr wrote:[stars: 14] [star avg: 3.29]
Um....What do you think that don't make any sense ?
Nothing usefull here .

By reverse averaging...
8 stars with a 3.25 rating could be:
3 3 3 3 3 3 4 4
with any other set of 8 scores that add up to 26 being possible (26/8=13/4=3 1/4)
Simple math...
