Search Engine Flaw

Using the Super Search Engine, if I search for videos that are 'Downloadable' it dosn't include enteries that are Local download ONLY. It only yeilds results that have Indirect or Direct links. I have to go back, do a 'Local Download' search to get the entries that are Local Downloadable...

Or are Local Downloads not 'Downloadable'?

You might wanna fix such a silly flaw.

Anyway, I think you have to donate to be able to be able to see the local links on the search... or something like that.

No, local vids just aren't considered downloadable the same way the Direct and Indirect vids are. I've asked about this in the past.

You can search *just* for local
just for direct
just for indirect

Or you can search for any video that is downloadable so long as it
-includes eiter a direct or indirect link

Local Only vids are not downloadable unless you search *only* for local vids.

I'm inclined to say no. It's good to see some people still going out and getting their own hosting. And I wouldn't mind stumbling over some more indirect/direct downloads myself.

My only problem with it is that it makes it impossible to get an accurate count of how many videos are downloadable in a search - at least without doing multiple counts and subtracting the difference.

You do a search for 'all downloadable' and get 200 vids. Then you have to count up and subtract the ones on that list which have a local link. Then you go and do a local only search and add back in the full number of local vids. It's a bit of work if you're trying to find out how many videos are available for say...the most overused anime or song.

And considering people continue to list amvs they have *not* actually made, just counting the vids listed is innacurate. You can only go by how many are available since the rest are unproven as to whether they exist or not.

Still, if you don't care how many vids there are for certain searches, it doesn't matter. Local only vids aren't considered downloadble. That's all there is to it.
