WOT was set to auto-prune two-day old posts, right? Why not do that with some of the other popular forums as well? (I'm thinking General Anime in particular).
Just a thought.

Some, yes. But anyone who visits General Anime on a regular basis will see a plethora of almost identical threads ("What the heck does FLCL mean," for instance, or "Which bad guy is the baddest?") I'm not saying those threads should disappear completely, despite their redundant tendencies. But since GA tends to be another popular category which tends to get necroposted occasionally, maybe it should be set on auto-prune. *shrug* It's just a suggestion. Phade can do whatever he wants with it.

Can threads be combined the way they're cut into sections? If so, then it should be possible to get a volunteer or two who would go through GA and categorize similar topics so there are fewer (at least half) repeating threads.
I think necroposting there is better than starting a new thread each time, and if all of the 'sexy anime females' threads were one thread, people could just revive it and add on instead of making a dozen new ones. In this case, I'm more for the necroposting than having 50+ threads on the same subject because people can't add onto the old ones (for fear of anti-necroposting attack).
