If the best old vids are decided by a group of people instead of the unknown masses as a whole, it's no different from Phade's Required viewing list, or any personal website where a few people promote the vids they like best. We can have a list like that, but it should have nothing to do with the top 10. The top 10, like the vcas, is decided by everyone. What you're looking for is a panel of judges to decide which vids are the best, and that's not the point of the top 10.

I think it would be very interesting if we had threads here where people discussed the pros and cons about certain videos, and decided after a while how they ranked in comparison to each other. The problem is that we can't discuss videos like that without it being all praise, all flames, or just a bicker session between the two groups. Every time a vid-specific thread comes up, it gets locked within a page or two because we are incapable of discussing an amv here.

If you want a list made by a credible judge of amvs, there are a lot of prominent editors who have recommendation lists on their websites. Or you can just go to their favorite vids list on their member profiles. If you only want the opinion of a few people (people with opinions worth listening to), then you don't want anything to do with the top 10. You're talking about the recommendation section of the forum, or something else entirely.

That said, try filtering the top 10 to the oldest date setting, and the 'creator only' option. Creators are less likely to give fake reviews, and more likely to be the 'credible judge' you're looking for.
