I say that stickies should be made for the animes the people have a habit of making ridiculous amounts of threads for (kenshin, dbz, etc etc) that are purged and recreated every month. That way all the crap gets filtered into single threads and the rest of the forum is clean.

Just my 2 cents.

I just don't want to have to stop talking about my favorite anime because they happen to get brought to the US. I liked YYH for years before it came over here - now I'm supposed to stop liking it just because other people happen to like the dubbed version?

I'd support the sticky idea for commonly mentioned anime (even YYH, though I hold that aside from myself there are few people mentioning it). I just don't want to see anime being boycotted just because it gets brought to the US. It never changed the way I felt about YYH (or Yami no Matsuei, or Earthian, or many other titles that are now being distributed here, and the people who liked Love Hina and FLCL still liked the anime after they were dubbed and shipped our way).

Yes, repetitive posts would be good sticky threads so the place doesn't get cluttered with the same thing over and over. But don't run fans off just because their favorite anime happens to get aired on US television - it's not the anime's fault, and at least in my case, it doesn't change my feelings *toward* the anime. It just makes it more popular.

Hey, I kept my dbz name as a tribute to the anime that got me into anime. I agree with you 100%.

Wasn't Omni doing reviews not all that long ago. what happend to those? I mean sure It would be great if there were more of them, but maybe he stopped for a reason.

General Anime in my opinion has 4 ways it can go:

1) Straight to hell. Nothing is done, the forum just goes from bad to worse.

2) Moderated to oblivion.Stickys w/thread trimming and deletion in general. Somehow I doubt Phade or The Agents will want to be going through all of that. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

3) Moderated by members. No, I'm not suggesting you give members moderator status or anything, but rather the freedom to post things like. "Ok, you just started a Trigun thread. You suck. Just go elsewhere, this is embarrassing for the both us." without risk of snapback.

4) DELETED!

And of course with options 2 and 3, new DVD/Fansub reviews would be encouraged greatly.
