Though this may be my first time talking or replying in the actual forum, I go to see the music videos practically every day so I'm not a newbie. That being the case, please do not treat me like a newbie or an idiot when answering my question.
As I search through the music video listings to find one I want to see, I notice that there are different formats of the videos like .avi, .mpeg, and so on. I have no trouble downloading them, but when I go to watch an .avi video that I've downloaded, it only plays the music and shows no picture.
All the other formats work fine on my computer except for the .avi ones. So here's my question, is there anyway to fix that by like downloading something else or buying something?

That's the 'xvid' and 'divx' codec that's giving you trouble. If you download ffdshow, you can play those videos in windows media player. If that doesn't fix the problem, you can try getting the actual xvid codec itself.

I have the same question, though what I can't play is mpeg layer 3. I DID read the guide, found it confusing, and downloaded the VLC Player. I can't play the VLC player. Someone PLEASE help me.
(I'd also like to note that I reflect the statement given above; I am not a n00b or an idiot so please don't treat me as such)
