Site Suggestion
Whoever's in charge of the org should seriously think about reworking the login process. After a search, I found over 80 users over the course of the past few months having problems logging in on an authentication error. Most people have no trouble at all, but it is still a huge problem if that many users get the same error. Whatever can be done to fix this should be.

Most of the people who get this problem get it because of the same error on *their* part.
At least half of them are using Internet Explorer and don't know how to clear all of their cookies (including the 'view files' so they get the ones that aren't deleted in the automatic deletion).
The rest (more recently) are using Firefox and accidentally typed in the wrong password - which was then saved automatically, and they don't know how to delete the passwords because they're new to Firefox.
Both of these problems are easily fixed, but they aren't the fault of the site itself.
A sticky would be a very good idea, though. Since we *do* know what the common problems are, it would save a lot of typing each time a new member has the problem.

Reworking it to give sane error messages has been on the todo list for a while.O Sliggity Slice wrote:Whoever's in charge of the org should seriously think about reworking the login process.
