Agreed. *sighs*
 Why does the Org get so many stupid noobs?
Can't we have peace?
You know what?

It's really funny to hear you talking about 'stupid noobs' breaking the forum rules when your 5th post on this forum involved you encouraging people to download music because, in your own words "any of the P2P programs are your best bet." Does that make you a pot or a kettle?

Link: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... ht=#561302

Noobs aren't stupid, they're just new. :?

Just like you were just new when you made that comment, right? Unless, as you say in another post in this thread, you "just decided to break the rules".

On Topic: I'm all for having the forum rules up front in giant bold letters with a hidden link so the new members *have* to read to find the button that lets them proceed to the forum. It will be annoying for them, but it will at least make them skim the rules looking for that hidden link.

Trying to take a 'low blow' and discredit me? *tsks*
Did I ever tell him to go download music? No.
Just told the truth about things I'd done nothing more nothing less.
*shrugs*
The rule braking is in purveying such things, not casually mentioning them.
Also, indeed it is funny, that wasn't my fifth post.
Furthermore, n00bs and newcomers aren't the same thing.
Personally loath n00bs not new members.

*rule breaking.
:? Damn typo.
Never write about breaking rules when thinking about cars.

You also conveniently forgot anything else about my reply...
Like telling him to buy the CD's.

It's the fifth post you've made that hasn't been deleted or moved from sight - on the 'view all posts by this member' option. ^.~

And it wasn't a low blow, or anything personal at all. I've yet to find a single new member (new since I joined - the rest have lost so many posts due to the OT removal, and the old phorums that I have no idea what they were like as newbies) who didn't make at least one 'noob' post within his/her first few months here. It just amuses me to see which people are the ones complaining about noobs.

As for encouraging versus telling, it doesn't matter. We aren't allowed to talk about downloading anime or music or programs. It's like the military, you know? Don't ask, don't tell. ;p

- I know you mentioned CDs. I can encourage both bootlegs and official releases in the same sentence. I'm still breaking the rules for encouraging bootlegs.

Never mind, this isn't about us.

I'll keep loathing people that make stupid mistakes and disregard the rules.
If some breaks the rules because another did so first then it's fine by me.
Example: A n00bs spams and necroposts and thus a flame wars ensues.
Personally believe the n00b to be in the wrong, not entirely but mostly.
Also n00bs aren't the only ones doing things that way.
Stupid people are everywhere.
Some non-new members spam just the same.
Eh, in the end I care not.
The MOD's in the end take care of it.
God bless the MOD.

Actually, as of October of this year a soldier cannot be separated from the military for the sole reason that they are homosexual.

Back on subject, yeah, eveeryone was once a newb. I laughed the other day when I got accused of being a newb and people defended me, as I still consider myself a newb (only been making videos for a year now). I believe I made a post about my views on n00bs not too long ago as well in this very forum. :)

But there is no way to make a n00b l33t without time and experience. :o
Life's short.

Heh, what's with these n00b-bashing again?

It's inevitable. Sometimes this type of behaviour has nothing to do with forum experience, or even competence. It's the way some people act. Unless they themselves see their behaviour and mistakes they make as embarassing, they're not gonna try to change them. And a lot of the time they don't want to, among other things because it's just a forum.

And perhaps we should, indeed, remember, that it's just a forum, and no forum is safe from 'n00b-ish' behaviour.

Granted, I'm all for suggestions of making people read rules as carefully as possible. I've seen even well-meaning people make mistakes and violate exceptions because they kinda skipped over them.

And, if you want a worse alternative to a noob... hmm... most of my first posts are gone, but I was absolutely TERRIBLE when I just got in.

How so? Instead of a n00by-n00b, I acted like an unfounded elitist. Beat that!

Good thing I learned quickly

Oh no Oto! How could you?
Eh, I see your unfounded elitist behavior and raise you an AdamKadamon.
Beat that Oto. :P

Indeed, "noobie" behavior isn't entirely avoidable...
But we seem to get them in massive quantities.

I have nothing against new members hell everyone has to start somewhere. It just seemed people had been talking about a large number of people who just signed up and they seemed suprised about it.
Since you apparantly don't keep up with recent events, the two week waiting period was rescinded.
No sorry I haven't been, I kinda stopped paying attention to the sign up procedure after I joined. But maybe someone should tell this page...
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/home/signup.php
Note that unless you are a dontator, members must wait 2 weeks before downloading local videos.
Also, members who donate to the website gain access to the following extras:

- Instant access to local downloads: no 2 week wait.
I seriously doubt the majority of new members donated before seeing what a-m-v.org provides.

That number is blown a bit out of proportion. As I write this, there are 321354 members that belong to this site. 99% of them would be 318140.46 members. Unless I'm blind, I don't see three hundred thousand people making threads on the forums going, "Where's can I downloads teh free anime?!!1111"

Seriously, all that we see on the forums are a very, very, very small percentage of the total members here, and the majority of them do follow the site rules.
